KayCee Crafts Clear Unmounted Polymer Craft Stamps are designed for use with clear acrylic stamping blocks (which we can also supply at competitive prices). The stamp is peeled from its individual acetate carrier backing and will self-adhere to the acrylic block, thus allowing extremely accurate positioning exactly according to the crafter's wishes.

The stamp is inked and used in the normal way. Water-soluble inks are best used. Permanent inks can be used but may leave a stain on the stamp; this doesn't compromise the stamp's future use, but the clarity can be affected somewhat. The stamp is cleaned with soapy water or a propriety stamp-cleaning wipe, peeled from the acrylic block and replaced onto it's carrier acetate ready for use over and over again.

When using these 'block colour' silhouette stamps it is recommended that dye-based inks only should be used. If pigment or solvent-based inks are used there is a likelihood of adherence to the paper/card surface and/or patchiness to the impression.

AS EMBOSSING PIGMENT
Stamp an image onto cardstock using either a versamark or clear pigment ink pad. Then using a soft brush, dip it into the pot of pigment and brush it over the stamped image. Ensure that the whole image is covered, then brush off any excess pigment with the brush. To create even more shimmering effects, try using the pearl pigments over different coloured pigment ink stamps. As these pigments are translucent, the base colour will be seen through the pigment giving a whole new effect.
USING IN PAINT
Can be mixed with water to create a paint.
CREATE YOUR OWN EMBOSSING POWDERS
Put required amount of ultra thick clear embossing powder and selected pigment into a small bag or pot (ratio 1 part pigment to 20 parts embossing powder). Shake until well mixed. Test mix before using on your project to ensure correct mix. Then use as you would normal embossing powder.
ENHANCING POLYMER CLAYS
To create colourful beads and jewellery you can add these pigments to polymer clay. Kneed the clay and pigment until the pigment is fully dispersed into the clay. The darker the clay, the more pronounced the iridescence will be. Once you have the shimmering coloured effect you require, style the clay as normal and bake in the oven.
CREATING BACKGROUNDS ON CARD
These pigments can be used in so many different ways. They can be added to waxes, varnish, scumble glaze, as well as PVA and paint medium. They can be used on many surfaces such as canvas, wood, paper mache, card, polymer clay, bisque fired ceramics or tile, walls, furniture and many more. Just remember to seal any surface once the pigment has dried. Try using a Versamark ink pad to sponge over a page of coloured card. Then, using a large soft brush, gently brush different pigments over the page. Depending on the way you brush, different effects can be achieved. A swirling effect will create soft shapes and lines, whilst long straight sweeps will create lines and angles. Just remember to seal once complete.
